In this spring semester, I took two writing courses that I was excited for. I took my second fiction writing course as a graduate student, so I was excited to see what new material I came up with in this second creative writing course as a grad student. The second course was a media writing course that sounded very interesting. I couldn’t wait to see what I would learn about fiction and media writing for the semester. In this semester, I took two courses: Fiction Writing Workshop and Media Writing.
Fiction Writing Workshop
This course was like previous fiction writing courses that I took as an undergraduate, and it was similar to the one I took as a graduate student. In this course, I set my mind on continuing to write stories to include along with the previously published stories (“Solace,” “Eidolon,” and “Immersion”). This course also helped me write a story that was utilized in my media writing course.
Media Writing
This course was indeed very interesting. This course helped me learn a lot more of the do’s and don’t of media writing and has helped me be more aware of how interact on social media platforms. This course also helped me develop an interesting project. For one of the major grades, the class was to create some sort of multimedia project. I decided to take a story I wrote in the Fiction Writing Workshop, “Old Marg,” and somehow use Instagram as my medium for telling this story.
